adhoc
For the NHS to offer a professional customer focused service you need to have responsive support services.
As well as our regular courier and mail work which involves collecting and delivering pathology specimens, internal mail, EBME, pharmacy, patient records etc - there is a need from our customers for us to provide a complimentary adhoc service.
This has evolved over the years we’ve provided it and we think works best where we take responsibility for and receive all transport related calls via a direct extension from the Trusts’ phone system.
We then manage our resources to first see if we can integrate the call into our regular runs or allocate one of our adhoc drivers who will do the job at the agreed published rate sheet.

We get some planned adhoc work such as patient choice work or a regular special delivery but there is a need for a more responsive same day service moving people (patients, doctors, staff) and all kinds of items.
We are told this is a very good, mainly reactive support service that our customers say solves a lot of their problems and saves them significant time and money by only having to make one phone call.
Would you like to see if this could solve some of your problems?
